Today’s early ride is to Florida’s Kitchen in Livingston via the National Forests. We’re meeting at Republic HD at 8:30 and KSU is at 9.
We’re taking I69 up through Houston to Cleveland. HOWEVER, This section of the route is subject to change, because TXDOT likes to close the freeway for work at the 610 Loop. If that happens, we’ll take Beltway 8 around the city and pick up the Freeway NE of Houston.)
We’ll take a rest stop after we get off I69, and then head NW into the Sam Houston National Forest. We’ll eventually pop out near Point Blank but instead of crossing the lake on 190 we’ll loop around the very northern part of it. We’ll head SE toward Livingston where we’ll stop for lunch. We will gas up at the Sunoco just down the sreet from Florida's Kitchen on the way back.
For there, we’ll go back down to Cleveland, where the ride will end at the Love’s gas station at Hwy 105.
We’ll ride as a group down the freeway either through the city or around it (depending on TXDOT), but people can peel off wherever they want.
The ride is about 200 miles plus another 50 to 70 miles back to Houston, depending on where you’re heading arrive approximatley 3:30 (For me, it’s 73 miles…)
Hopefully, we’ll have some nice weather along with some green on the trees. If we do, it’ll be a very nice ride.
Please register if you want to go, so we can make sure we have enough Road Captain support.
