Today we’re going to West Columbia for BBQ!
First, the details: Meet at the parking lot next to the Shell station across from Republic at noon with a KSU at 1230.
We’ll head generally south on FM 762 and then head down Cow Creek Road into West Columbia to Republic BBQ.
We’ll head back north on Hwy 36, but instead of going through Needville, we’ll cut back across on Cty Roads 17 and 18 (crossing one of few remaining wooden bridges in Fort Bend County!) and eventually head back north on 762.
Here’s a little surprise: When we ride around here, we often circle the power plant near Smithers lake. But we often circle it in a clockwise direction. This time, we’ll turn off 762 and circle it counter clockwise.
We’ll head back north on Crabb River Road towards 59, but the ride will officially end at the Shell station across from the small Buc-ee’s
The ride is about 95 miles and we should arrive at the end about 3:30
It’s a relatively easy ride, so new riders should feel comfortable. But it’ll have some new stuff to keep the experienced folks interested. Plus, I’ve heard the BBQ is pretty good!
